Los detalles de la investigación realizada por el Colegio Médico Colombiano los explica la Revista Dinero, que concluyó que el sector salud del país “esta en cuidados intensivos”, por lo que es uno de los principales problemas que debe enfrentar el Gobierno.
La encuesta precisa que el 27 % de los médicos generales gana entre 4,1 y 7,4 millones de pesos (de 5 a 9 SMLV) y que tan solo el 2 % devenga hasta 12,4 millones (más de 9 SMLV).
Por su parte, el 31 % de los médicos especialistas reciben mensualmente entre 7,4 y 12,4 millones; el 29 % supera los 12,4 millones; el 24% entre 4,1 y 7,4 millones e incluso un 4 % tiene salarios que no superan los 2,4 millones.
Las cifras más preocupantes se reflejan en la actualidad de los médicos rurales colombianos, pues el 92 % no reciben más de 4,1 millones de pesos y, tan solo el 8 % restante, hasta 12.1 millones.
La investigación precisa que la situación laboral del 75% del total de los médicos generales, especialistas y demás profesionales de la salud en Colombia se ha visto afectada por cambios en las condiciones de trabajo, pérdida del empleo, constricción o limitaciones del ejercicio y acoso laboral, entre otros.
Este panorama se evidencia en uno de tantos casos que ocurren en el país, como el del Hospital de Sincelejo que este mes se quedó sin médicos especialistas en su planta, por la terminación y no renovación de sus contratos debido a varios retrasos en los pagos, como lo informó RCN Radio el pasado primero de abril.
Para contrarrestar la situación, este viernes el senador Juan Luis Castro, de la Alianza Verde, presentó ante el Congreso un proyecto que busca mejorar las condiciones laborales del gremio desde que los médicos prestan su servicio social rural obligatorio como requisito para poder obtener su título, informó el diario El Nuevo Siglo.
La iniciativa también busca dar respuesta a varias denuncias de estudiantes de medicina que argumentan que sus labores rurales no son reconocidas o recompensadas como lo merecen.
